A solid win here combined with the last win vs. the Devils suggests that maybe they're starting to figure out the trap.

I am waiting to see if there's a letdown from this week on Tuesday vs. the Islanders or Wednesday vs. Anaheim, but I'm seeing a very promising trend of consistent workmanlike ethic over the past several weeks. Unlike some in CapsNation, I'm not one to assume that the glass will spill at some point. It's been a problem early in the season, but I'm wondering if the captaincy change changed that?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14971098.post-24610529068963266372010-01-24T13:55:08.105-05:002010-01-24T13:55:08.105-05:00One additional thing...there was a Georgetown bask...One additional thing...there was a Georgetown basketball game at Verizon earlier that day, so the ice at game time was about as bad as it's never been. They even turned on the air conditioner on high at the mid-game point (we could suddenly feel it in the 400s, and the Canadian flag was on a slant from the blowers), probably because they were afraid that the ice was melting at that point.

It was the kind of ice that favored a worker team like the Coyotes more than a skilled team like the Capitals, but Washington appeared prepared for that. The two Phoenix goals were well-set up by the Coyotes rather than the result of breakdowns or mistakes by the Caps.exwhalernoreply@blogger.com
