I'd take Blake or V. Kozlov at wing, and then Hannan. But as stacked as this team is at left wing, I don't see any reason for Kariya to sign here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14971098.post-74277903527951099462007-06-30T14:06:00.000-04:002007-06-30T14:06:00.000-04:00We're not signing Kariya. If you have his production at RW that allows you to get by with Comrie as the top C. Make Hannan the big D signing and I'm happy at those 3 additions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14971098.post-86328596556755810872007-06-30T11:49:00.000-04:002007-06-30T11:49:00.000-04:00The only solace I can take from your latest progno...The only solace I can take from your latest prognostication is that your track record has been...well, frankly, not so good. Let's see, the Caps need to address a major weakness at center, defense, and pick up a PP quarterback. Maybe, and I mean MAYBE, Boumedienne can fill in on the PP, but why would the Caps sign another LW? Yes, he shoots left (a major plus) and Semin can play RW, but I think that Semin is much better on the left. Can Kariya play on the right? I personally like Kariya, but it would be a curious move by the Caps.

This also basically ties GMGM's hands...he HAS to get his center and defenseman via trade. GMGM is a very patient and value-conscious trader; this will be the first time he is at a real disadvantage in the trade market. Every GM in the NHL would know that he desperately has to make a move. So my guess is that the Caps sign either a FA center (not necessarily first tier) and a good #3 d-man.

wilburAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
