But if you took both off of their respective teams, are NJ and SJ out of the top-eight? Perhaps, but not clearly so.The Peerlesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10293195514553989436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14971098.post-39456451001867211592008-03-18T11:36:00.000-04:002008-03-18T11:36:00.000-04:00To me, the key word for the Hart is "value". To this point of the year, there's no doubt Ovechkin's had the best year (and Malkin's had the best calender 2008) but to me, no one's been more valuable than Brodeur.

He's played in 67 of 72 games and has got the Devils #1 in the East, surrendering 168 goals. Only two other teams in the East (NYR, Pitt) have given up less than 200 goals. Brodeur's got the requiste stats (40 wins, 2.15 GAA, 92.2% save %).

Right now, I don't think AO can win the Hart. How much value does a non-playoff player have? As of this minute the Caps aren't in the playoffs with him, the same place they'd be without him. That, of course could change though.Hooks Orpikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04043702689071051472noreply@blogger.com
