Will the last Russian please turn out the lights...

First, Sergei Fedorov is described as possibly headed to Mettalurg Magnitogorsk. Now, a report that Viktor Kozlov has signed a contract to play with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia.

In two seasons with the Caps, Kozlov played in 148 regular season games, going 29-66-95, +19. In 21 playoff games with Washington over the past two seasons, he was 4-5-9, +1.

Is it true? Hey, who knows?

I am ok with it..let him go. I think Kozlov can really work the puck when he wants to, but thats just a rare occasion. I think we would be better suited with a winger that can move his feet AND carry the puck. Sure Kozy is a big hard to move body but I think we need something better for Ovies other side.

A McSorley-type, for instance - one on each of the top two lines. But I like Kozlov, particularly in the shoot-out. I'll be sorry to see him go.

There is an interview with Kozlov over at Japers. He says he has made his decision is definitely going to Russia. So whether the rumors about this particular team are true or not doesn't really matter... I'm sad to see him go but not surprised.
