The Carolina Hurricanes barely had finished off the New Jersey Devils by scoring two goals in the final 1:20 of Game 7 of their series to determine the second-round matchups when Crosby started texting teammates...
'Good ... We get the Capitals.'"
Beware what it is you wish for.
If I was a Cap, hearing that would pump me up so badly. I hope they put 6 on Fleury tonight!
ReplyDeletewell, in a way it makes sense if it wasn't us they would be playing #1 boston - obviously they should be happy to get a lesser seeded team. But yeah, I hope it provides good motivation for our boys!
ReplyDeleteJust another reason to hate the NHL's poster boy. He's such a little jerk...
ReplyDeletewell, in a way it makes sense if it wasn't us they would be playing #1 bostonDon't know about that...Carolina hasn't seem to have had too much problem handling the Bruins these last two games. They've been more then up to the task.
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, im more scared of carolina than i am of boston. Carolina beating boston isn't really a testament to how bad boston is so much as how good carolina has been. When carolina gets hot they seem almost unbeatable.
ReplyDeleteWe can beat any team in the playoffs, so it hardly matters who we get. But I do detest that smarmy little whats-it. Here's hoping the boys put one right up his Blackberry tonight.

ReplyDeleteWhy because he's excited to compete against a good opponent?
Crosby wasn't happy to play Washington because he thought they'd be an easy opponent, he doesn't back down from a good opponent. And avoiding the #1 seed (who swept in Roud 1) is a nice boost too.
C'mon Hooks..a little past history context please?
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows the playoff history of these past two teams..and the fact that the Pens have "owned" the Caps in playoff series, much to the frustration of many Caps fans. Do you honestly don't think that wasn't in the back of Sidney's mind when he tapped out that text? Moi suspects it was.
