For for fun I wanted to see what Ovechkin's career stats would project to if he played 1500 NHL games in his career and if he stayed at the current goal, assist, etc pace that he has done so far in his first 3 years in th league. The following are the numbers I came up with:

Career Projection:
1500 games
967 goals
882 assists
1,848 points

Wayne Gretzky, who? ;)

1) Imagine IF Gretzky's average goals/points/game from his first 4 seasons had been sustained for all his 1500(actually 1487) games!

Thanks as always.

Hey where are you guys finding stats on Give aways and take aways? I have been looking for those.

Ovechkin is also first in Powerplay goals and average goals per game (for players having player more than 20 games)

at the NHL site, under stats...select RTSS player stats as an option. You can see give aways, take aways, blocked shots, hits, etc.
