An eerie coincidence?

The Boston Bruins -- tonight's opponent for the Caps -- is 19-4-4, their best such record after 27 games since they were 19-4-3-1 after 27 games in the 2002-2003 season.

In their 28th game, also played on a December 10th evening, they lost to another team clad in red, white, and blue (the Montreal Canadiens on that occasion), 4-2.

After that blistering start in their first 27 games in the 2002-2003 season, the Bruins would finish the season 17-27-8-3 for a record of 36-31-11-4. They would then fall to New Jersey, four games to one, in the first round of the playoffs.

Just something to think about.
